Owner & Stylist

Hello! I’m Sue

Sue Thayer graduated from BOCES School for Cosmetology and received her hairdresser’s license in 1976. In 1982, Sue began working as a stylist at Regis in Marketplace Mall. During her 13 years at Regis Hairstylists, she attended many haircutting, perm, hair coloring, and motivational classes. Sue excelled when it came to hair coloring and was invited by Regis to spend a week on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. She trained with the hairstylist Christoph. He taught her his techniques and trained her on the newest styles. During her time at Regis, the television show Shades Of Gray, asked Sue to discuss her hair techniques for various types of hair, such as thinning hair, ethnic hair, and graying models. Sue was offered a management position at a new salon called Henrietta’s Fine Hair Salon. Sue felt that this change was right for her because it allowed her to offer more to her clients. Sue saw an opportunity to be able to offer more when she decided to embark on an education in sugaring. She received her license for Alexandria Sugaring, a hair removal system that is different from waxing or electrolysis. Over the next 5 years, Sue’s clientele continued to grow and she continued working at the Henrietta Fine Hair Salon until the owners decided to sell the business.

Sue has an entrepreneurial spirit and decided to take a leap and start her own business. She rented a station in an established salon down the street, and her business became Sue’s Finishing Touch. With making such a big decision, comes a lot of risks. However, Sue’s intuition served her well and her business began to flourish. In November of 2008, the owner of the salon decided to sell the building. Sue was ready to become a full-time salon owner and made another career-altering decision. After a renovation to the interior, complete with installation of pedicure stations, shampoo and hair stations, she feels that her salon is still a work in progress.

I am very thankful for the opportunity to create my own business for hair care, nails, pedicures, sugaring/waxing, and skincare in an environment that is both friendly, enjoyable, and a great environment for both my staff and customers alike”.

Licensed cosmetologist for 6+ years. With the constant change in the industry, she regularly takes classes and applies new techniques to her clients to fit their individuality. Whether you’re looking for something trendy or trying to keep your look iconic…she is your girl!

Heather

HAIR, Nails & Waxing EXPERT

Heather has been a licensed cosmetologist for 17+ years. She has a passion for art and applies that to each clients individuality and unique look. She specializes in bridal up-dos and fashion colors.

Tiffany

Waxing Expert

She has been in the industry since 2006. She specializes in full body waxing for men and women. She continues to educate her clients so they recieve the highest quality service possible. Her ultimate goal is to make all clients walk out feeling confident and beautiful.

Patti

Stylist

Patti has been in the industry since 1983 and a part of the team at Sue’s Finishing Touch since 2013. She specializes in colors and cuts. Her service menu also includes perms, facial sugaring, ear piercing and ear candling.

Gail

Wig Specialist

Gail works at Sue’s Finishing Touch on Thursdays and occasionally on Friday’s. She specializes in perms, color, styling and wigs.

Grace

Stylist

Grace has been a hairstylist for 44 years, She specializes in highlights and color for both men and women.

Tammy

Nail Technician

Tammy is a premiere nail tech. She has been “doing” nails for over 20 years. The list of services goes on forever from artificial nails, fills, pedicures and fancy holiday nails. If you can name it, she does it! She is always booked so call for an appointment.
